Battery Level Indicator using LM3914
5 years ago | Blogs | by: Circuit DIY

A Battery level indicator (Battery Guage) is an electronic measuring instrument that indicates the immediate voltage level of any DC battery. It is a very common testing circuit, employed in various industries. So today, we are going to build a Battery Level indicator using the LM3914N dot/bar display driver IC.

You will need the following parts to build this project

Step 1 is to Solder IC with Base. Then, Step2 is to Solder LED’s followed by step 3, Solder Resistors. Step 4 was to Solder Variable Resistor and Step 5 Solder Battery Terminals.

Finally, this is the used schematic for this project PCB. The LM391 in the middle and each LED connected to the IC. To make adjustments we use a few fixed adn variable resistors. The circuit can work at 12V. You can use different color LEDs.
