Drones use a huge amount of current for their brushless beast motors. So it's smart to measure that current and keep the drone in the safe zone. A very interesting project
by Joop Brokking explains just that in case for his octocopter design. In order to keep the flight safe for a drone, there is a need to measure the current that goes to each ESC (electronic speed controller) for each motor.
While designing all the parts for his drone, he realized that each motor controller should have an over current and overheating protection. And to do taht, hen started designing his own PCB whit the current sensing modules for each of the 8 motors.
